Mr. Murphy joined Construction Systems Group, Inc. in January 2003. He is a licensed Professional Engineer with more than 20 years of experience in the investigation and repair design of failures and performance issues involving building components and materials. His work addresses both serviceability and structural stability failures affecting building wall systems and structural elements. His project experience includes failures resulting from design and construction deficiencies, as well as material deterioration involving stone, brick, terra cotta, and concrete. He also frequently investigates failures of both traditional and contemporary building facades.

Mr. Murphy has extensive experience with diagnostic testing to determine the causes of building envelope failures and water infiltration. He has served as a consultant and expert witness in trial, arbitration, and mediation proceedings on numerous projects.

During his tenure at CSG, Mr. Murphy has conducted comprehensive surveys of building envelope components and prepared detailed repair and design packages. He has also served as Senior Project Engineer on several high-profile new construction projects. In addition, his work includes investigation and design of repairs to building facades and waterproofing systems, rehabilitation of concrete parking garages and balconies, and replacement of doors and windows.
