Perform structural analysis and design for capital maintenance, historic preservation, and adaptive reuse projects (including office-to-residential conversions).
Conduct on-site structural condition assessments and forensic investigations of existing structures.
Develop detailed construction documents, specifications, and repair details.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously from the initial blueprint to final inspection, ensuring they remain on schedule and within budget.
Mentor junior engineering staff and collaborate with project managers, architects, and contractors.
Cultivate and maintain long-term relationships with real estate owners, developers, and property managers.
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in VA, MD, or DC (or the ability to obtain reciprocity within 6 months).
Minimum of 7 years of experience in structural engineering, with a strong focus on the restoration and repair of existing buildings.
Proficiency in structural analysis software and AutoCAD/Revit.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical reporting and client presentations.
Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering.
Experience specifically with post-tensioned concrete, masonry restoration, and parking garage rehabilitation.
Existing relationships within the Mid-Atlantic commercial real estate market.
Base Salary: $115,000 – $145,000 (commensurate with experience).
